Your Dog’s Grooming Day - Arrival at 10am.
The Groomer will chat with each Client regarding their dogs grooming requirements. You dog is assessed by the Groomer & checked for any skin conditions or fleas.
Prebath
A prebath is done on the dog, which involves cutting the nails, cleaning & removing hair from the ears, clipping & removing hair on pads & brushing out any matts in the coat. A light clipping is done on the dog’s coat, depending on breed. Anal glands are cleared if needed.
Washing
When your dog has finished it’s prebath, he or she is then transferred to the bath and gently massaged with a warm water spray. Next they are washed with a good quality shampoo suitable for their coat, and coat conditioner applied. They then need to be blow-dried before their final trim & styling.
Styling
We will always follow the breed standard, but if a client request a tighter trim that is not a problem. Finally your dog gets a light dusting of dog friendly perfume spray & a complimentary bow to complete their grooming.
Bonding
Here at Happy Paws we feel it’s important to always take time with the dogs. To make sure the dog is relaxed before we start grooming. It helps make things easier on the dog & the groomer. If at any time a dog gets a little uneasy, we stop & give them a break outside. This is why we ask our Clients to bring their dogs in at 10am for appointments, this way there are no interruptions during the day with people coming and going.
Collection.
When your dog is ready for collection you will get a phone call. If you are busy or shopping and can’t make it right away, it’s not a problem. Once your dog is collected by 5pm that is fine with us.
All dogs are required to have Vaccinations up to date before we can take them in.
